A Little More About Me
I am so happy to have found my way to nutrition! The road had varied stops, but all have informed my practice in a unique way.
Since I was young, I wanted to be an actor. There was a moment watching Shakespeare in High Park that I knew it was part of my calling. I studied theatre in high school and at the University of Toronto. Ongoing training extended my understanding of voice, body mechanics and interpersonal communication, skills that I have found to be transferable in my professional work as a nutritionist.
I have worked in catering, as a barista, an instructor for children, a wholesale baker, an administrative manager, a theatre usher and, of course, an actor. But I’ve always found my strength working with and helping people.
I have always been a creative cook and, when I found the Institute of Holistic Nutrition, it all clicked. I was drawn by a thirst to learn more about the workings of the human body, expanding on my physical training as an actor and my own personal health journey. I became hooked on biological science and the intricacies of the human body! In Holistic Nutrition I have learned the power of healing and health promotion with food and lifestyle changes.
As a nutritionist, it is my responsibility to meet individuals exactly where they are. With careful consideration, I assemble nutritional and lifestyle guidelines to support them to improve their current circumstances and to assist them to work preventively for the future. I believe that this work has a special place in our current climate, promoting the importance of whole foods, mindfully reducing stress and getting back to our roots to live healthier and happier lives.
Food is a huge part of our everyday lives. With my guidance, I hope that people will develop a thoughtful, flexible, health-focused approach to filling their plates. My approach is thoughtfully investigative and backed by formulaic approaches to identify and address nutrient deficiencies, blood sugar imbalances, systemic dysfunction and limiting habits and routines.
By listening, recommending changes, and lifting you up, I can help you to find your unique approach to feeling your most vibrant and energetic!
